I apologize in advance for the amount of selfies in this post. It’s very difficult to get tangible photographic evidence of your anniversary when you’re hiking around in the wilderness-ish. The mutant and I meandered to Fredericksburg for a short weekend getaway to celebrate two years of being hopelessly devoted to one another. We took our time getting to F-burg and stopped at the outlets in San Marcos to do some damage to our bank accounts. It’s amazing how easy it is to rationalize apparel purchases at outlet malls. Even Casey, a very skeptical and hesitant consumer, managed to find some steals.
We had a lovely dinner at a small restaurant in Fredericksburg. Casey couldn’t get over the carrot in our salad. It was shaved extra specially or something.
It actually kind of looks like fish in that picture, so it’s hard to tell. I suppose my camera naturally just focuses on tall handsome men when snapping shots. CASEY STRANGE SO HAWT RIGHT NOW.
We woke up early Sunday morning to hike Enchanted Rock, and this is where the selfies come into play.
To be especially corny, I’ll mention that similarly to marriage, the hike was sometimes easy, sometimes hard, sometimes hot and sometimes not. And now that we’ve conquered it, I only remember the good parts. Year two was definitely full of ups and downs, but I really can’t imagine doing life with anyone else. I’m a lucky lucky duck…and sometimes a schmuck.
Oh and also, we returned home with a new family member, but that’s a story for another day (aka tomorrow).
